Questions owners ask before we start

Business Consulting FAQ

The questions I hear most from owners deciding whether to get help — answered plainly.

Most owners wait too long to get help, then expect it to fix everything at once. Neither works. Here are the straight answers to the questions I hear before almost every engagement.

If your question isn’t here, the fastest route is to request a strategy call — or start with business consulting and follow the path that matches your biggest pain.

Straight answers

What does a business consultant do?

A good one diagnoses the constraint holding your business back, designs the fix, installs it with your team and steps back once it runs. Read what a business consultant does.

How long does business consulting take?

Expect a couple of weeks to diagnose, about a quarter to install the operating rhythm, and two to four quarters of running it before it’s second nature.

Do I need a consultant, a coach or a fractional COO?

A consultant designs and installs fixes, a coach develops you, and a fractional COO owns operational outcomes part-time. Compare them on business coach vs consultant and fractional COO vs consultant.

What is the BOSS framework?

Blueprint, Ownership, Strategy, Score — the operating system I run my own companies on. Read the BOSS framework.

Do you implement EOS?

No. I’m not an EOS Implementer. I teach how EOS and other systems work so you can choose, and I install my own BOSS framework. See what is EOS.

Will business consulting increase my revenue?

It can, by fixing the constraints that cap revenue, but no honest consultant promises a number. Results depend on your market, team and follow-through. See how to increase revenue.

Where does AI fit?

After the process is clear. AI amplifies a good system and speeds up a bad one. When you’re ready, the AI for Business pillar and Chief cover it.

Do you work with businesses outside South Carolina?

Yes. I’m based in Lexington, SC and meet in person around the state, but most of the work runs on weekly calls.

How do I get started?

Request a strategy call and tell me where the business is stuck.
